  • Position Overview

    With an emphasis on the diabetes business, this Innovation Marketing Manager position will be a core contributor to the creation commercialization strategy and tactical plan execution. This marketing position will require expertise in marketing strategy, upstream product development as well as commercialization planning for the diabetes business.

    The Innovation Marketing Manager will work proactively and collaboratively with stakeholders from across the organization leading the development of the Go-to-Market strategy, Launch Excellence scorecard, customer research plans, commercialization and in-market product support for new products in the Innovation portfolio.

    These and other core activities will ensure the growth of a successful diabetes business.

    Responsibilities
    • Work creatively with the commercial organization to identify, develop, and drive the implementation of new and exciting ways to bring products to market in ways that stand out from the competition and support our brand promise
    • Lead the mapping and gap assessment of the customer journey to inform business requirements for the innovation portfolio
    • Drive strategies and research programs to gain HCP and consumer input to inform commercial decisions for successful product development and launch plans
    • Lead the development of commercialization strategies and tactical plans interfacing with Product Marketing, Technical Product Management, and a broad cross-functional core team (including Regulatory, Quality, Clinical, MedEd, Managed Care, Finance, etc.)
    • Gain alignment on Launch Excellence Processes and measures of success for new product launches ranging from minor software releases to flagship new products that make up the innovation portfolio.
    • Drive alignment on key decisions that require cross-functional collaboration and impact the work of multiple functions for the successful launch of new products
    • Develop metrics and track the successful execution of the go-to-market and commercialization plans for the launch of new products

    Accountability/Scope
    • Commercialization planning subject-matter expert responsible for guiding the activities of cross-functional teams in support of the launch goals
    • Serve as the lead commercial point of contact for interactions with partner organizations to ensure alignment on product launch timelines and commercialization deliverables
    • Responsible for driving research initiatives to strengthen plans with input from internal (sales) and external (HCP, consumers) customers
    • Will be accountable for developing marketing strategies and tactics supporting existing portfolio as well as expanding the product line.
    • Understand global business dynamics and competitive environment and impact on business results.
    • Manage marketing budget associated with specific programs/tactics (plan and track expenses)

    Skills/Experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Business, MS or MBA preferred
    • 5-7 or more years of relevant product marketing experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent, complex, and cross-functional projects required.
    • Upstream marketing experience through all phases of development to successful product commercialization
    • Downstream marketing experience providing commercial support to a large, national sales force
    • Ability to work in a complex, collaborative and fast-paced environment

    • Extremely thorough and organized
    • Excellent Excel skills including product line and market forecasting
    • Excellent communication and social skills
    • Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills
    • Experience working in the medical device regulatory and quality systems environment, including ECO processing.
