    Job description

    BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This role will be responsible for the fastest growing, most visible, cutting edge product portfolio in the organization, and one of the most highlighted and talked about portfolios in the industry. The Product Manager will be support the sales force and customers, as well as improve the market and expand the product line in an effort to increase sales and profitability of the company, directing the marketing functions for Terumo Interventional Systems products. The major focus is in on downstream marketing activities; however, upstream responsibilities are increasing regularly.

     

    SPECIFIC DUTIES:

    1.     Develop marketing plan for the US market

    2.     Prepare regular product forecasts based on customer information and market analysis. Analyze and regularly report on product usage trends.

    3.     Analyze and revise and coordinate with manufacturing the necessary production forecasts for all market areas (US, Europe, etc). Assure that an adequate inventory of products is maintained at all times.

    4.     Responsible for traditional Marketing deliverables such as business plans, pricing, product positioning, promotional strategies, life cycle plans and advising on product improvements and new product needs.

    5.     Develop sales and marketing tactics to include but not limited to brochures, trade advertising, training manuals, and show materials.

    6.     Support sales education with updated materials and communications on an ongoing basis.

    7.     Analyze and report on a regular basis market trends, sales and competitive information as it may affect the performance of the portfolio

    8.     Pursue product line extensions, labeling revisions, clinical studies and any other activities which would ultimately build the value of the product line and maximize product line earnings.

    9.     Inform the Sales organization routinely with product updates, and develop product promotions and collateral materials with input from Marketing and Sales.

    10.   Develop rationale and make recommendations to management on pricing, manufacturing, packaging, distribution, promotion, market research, regulatory, legal and any issue which impacts product area responsibility.

    11.   Develop and expand technical knowledge necessary for product line management and customer interaction.

    12.   Remain abreast of the market, the competition and the environment. Act as an information resource to all functional areas.

    13.   Identify and propose new projects which will enhance the performance of the product line, broaden the offerings and maximize the product line earnings.

    14.   Maintain active contact with key physicians regarding clinical research as it relates to current and future product requirements.

    15.   Follow all corporate quality guidelines and industry regulations. Assure that products meet contract specifications, as well as all additional Terumo quality guidelines.

    16.   Identify key competitors, understand and analyze competitive market environment and act to position TIS as the preferred product supplier.

     

    This position exists in an office environment with approximately 30-40% travel to outside meetings and customer locations.

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    ● A College Degree is required, preferably in Marketing, Biological/Clinical Science or Equivalent Clinical qualifications.

    ● A minimum of 5 years overall business experience in Product Management is required in the medical device marketplace.

    ● Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and be flexible enough to change priorities with short notice when necessary.

    ● Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to relate well with sales representatives and customers on the phone and in person.

    ● Work independently and be an excellent problem-solver. Find value in teamwork and being a team player.
